Therapy and family counseling

At Healing Grounds, we provide therapy and guidance designed to meet diverse needs. Our work focuses on supporting individuals and families through specialized approaches that promote growth, resilience, and connection.

1. Guidance for Adolescents

Individual therapy offers a safe space for young people to explore their challenges, strengths, and needs. Through conversations with an experienced therapist, children and teens receive support to better understand themselves, process difficult emotions, and develop new ways of approaching everyday life.

Therapy is tailored to each person's goals and situation, with a focus on building coping skills, fostering personal growth, and creating lasting change.

For neurodivergent youth—including those with autism, ADHD, or other developmental differences—August's approach includes:

  • Social skills training – understanding body language, facial expressions, and navigating social boundaries

  • Emotional regulation – identifying and managing feelings, especially in group settings

  • Self-awareness and self-acceptance – embracing strengths and building confidence

2. Parental Guidance & Family Counseling

Parental guidance provides support and reassurance in your role as a parent. Through conversations and practical advice, you gain tools to better understand your child's needs, manage everyday challenges, and strengthen family relationships.

We don't just work with the child—we partner with everyone around them. Parents receive practical knowledge and guidance that make it easier to understand their child's unique needs and manage challenging situations with confidence.

The goal is to equip you with strategies that make it easier to create a safe and nurturing environment for both children and adults—reducing isolation and building confidence in your ability to support your child as they grow.

3. Consultation for Schools & Care Systems

We offer professional consultation and collaboration with educators, child protective services (barnevernet), municipal health services, and other care providers.

This work focuses on:

  • Understanding the unique needs of neurodivergent or struggling children

  • Developing practical strategies for support across different contexts

  • Coordinating care between families, schools, and service systems

  • Building sustainable approaches that support long-term development

By working collaboratively across systems, we ensure that children receive consistent, informed support in all areas of their lives.
